PowerPoint 2008 does not appear to have the option to apply background theme template to one slide only. It changes the background of all slides in the file. I am not referring to color changes, pictures, gradients etc, as it does allow you to apply those changes to one slide only. Previous versions enabled you to click on apply to this slide only. Is there still a way to do this?

Hello, in order to do this in PowerPoint 2008, you need to switch to Slide Sorter view and select (CMD+Click) the slides you want to only have one Theme applied, then click on the Theme in the Elements Gallery. You can also go to Format Background and use "Apply" vs. "Apply to All" to have the background formatting apply to that slide only.
