if i put two circular shapes together, how do i show the overlapped area between the two instead of one overshadowing the other?

I know what you mean but I don't think PPT can do that - it is not a graphic program as such.

One workaround is to draw your 2 overlapping circles (hold shift to constrain shape).

Copy the bottom layered circle (Apple D), reposition directly over the bottom circle and then reduce the opacity of the new top circle.

Not ideal but it works - open to a proper method if someone knows how.

simply by using transparency seems to work
