I just lost an important presentation that took me 2 days to prepare. I
am using PowerPoint 11.2 with all the latest updates on a PowerBook
running OS X 10.4.3. The presentation was large (about 6 MB) and when I
saved it, Powerpoint just closed (no warning, no error message). After
that, the file was completely gone (not in the trash, and not locatable
by Spotlight). When I restared PP, there was no AutoRecovery file, even
though I had seen PP save such a file multiple times. A Spotlight
search could not reveal any trace of the recovery file.
How is a software that is capable of this allowed to be marketed?
