PP 08 - how to remove hyperlinks

I want to remove hyperlinks, but there's seems to be no "remove hyperlink" option anywhere. I've search all over and online and I'm officially stumped.
I hate PP 08. But I'm stuck with it at work and I'm a power user, having switched recently from Windows PP 03 - which is likely part of the problem.
But anyway....
How do I remove a hyperlink in a pp08 pres??

There is a method, but it's not as obvious as we might like.

Select or place the cursor inside of the hyperlink text,
and go to the Insert - Hyperlink... menu.
(You can also access this by doing a Control+click on
the text and selecting Hyperlink - Edit Hyperlink.)
You should see the Edit Hyperlink dialog come up.

Do you now see the "Remove Link" button in the lower left-hand
corner of the dialog box?

I know, it seems ridiculous to remove a link by going to the
Insert menu, but that's the way it's set up.

BTW, why do you hate PowerPoint 2008? I've used PPT 2003
for Windows as well, but I think that besides the lack of VBA
and the omission of a few niceties (but along with the addition of
some Mac-only features like the Project Palette, compatibility
with iPhoto, the Elements Gallery and the dynamic guides
feature), PowerPoint 2008 is a generally strong product.
It does have some catching up to do with PPT 2007 for
Windows and it has its annoyances, but I've enjoyed
using it, anyway.

Optional to Jeff's suggestion: Control/Right-Click the link, point to
Hyperlink, select Edit Hyperlink, then lick the Remove Link button. It's
still more roundabout than the Delete Hyperlink contextual menu item in PC
Office but whatcha gonna do?

Alternatively select the hyperlink, go to Slide Show> Action Settings,
select None.

Oh, my goodness! How easy is that!
Thank you so much.
I'm sorry I could not answer sooner - the Mac is at school and it's a weekend.
Thank you both!
