Background: Have been running Office 2000. Recently downloaded a trial
version of PP 2003. I created 3 or 4 presentations before it expired and
after it expired I purchased the PP 2003 upgrade (not the entire office suite
upgrade) AND INSTALLED IT as a complete install without removing PP 2000.
All of my PP presentations will open in PP 2003 except the only 2 that are
REALLY important, as I have spent a lot of time on each. One was created in
the trial PP 2003(as were several others all of which will open in the newly
installed PP 2003) and the other one created in PP 2000. I have tried
opening these 2 from the My Documentss and I have tried opening them from the
PP 2003 application. This is the message I get when they don't open "PP
can't read C:\ documents and settings\my docs\power point\Seller
Presentation.ppt." FYI . . I tried removing pp 2003 and then installed it
again using the option of removing 2000, but that didn't make any difference
so I did a system restore back to a time before I installed pp 2003 and then
installed it again as I had originally done (not removing PP 2000) Both of
the presentations that won't open in pp 2003 will play in the 2003 viewer
that was a seperate download before I bought pp 2003. Also, both of them
will open in PP 2000 but needless to say the one that was created in PP 2003
does not run properly in 2000 because of the new 2003 animations that were
used. This just doesn't make sense to me!! Please help! Thanks . . . hope
this is clear.
