PP Customised start up page ??

How please do I change the opening page in Power Point so that I always
start with the layout I want please. For example I always want to start in
portrait with an A4 page instead of default lanscape with a slide page.
Guess that the guidance given in answer will give clues for any other start
changes I need. Also is there a good PP site that can answer fairly simple
questions like this. Many thanks.

How please do I change the opening page in Power Point so that I always

The simplest thing to do might be to create a presentation that's set up
exactly as you want it, then save it someplace convenient as e.g.
MyStandardPresentation.PPT

Doubleclick that to start a new presentation then immediately Save As to
give it a new name.
It might be a good idea to set the "template" file to Read Only.
