I have been trying to grade student pp and all of a sudden when I click on a
presentatation pp starts to load, disappears, & I get an error message that
says it unexpectedly quit, no other applications have been harmed. It
worked fine last week, all of the other office applications work. Does
anyone have any idea what's wrong?

Try the tips here:
<http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00395.htm>

If you're running PowerPoint 2004, there are a few differences:

- there are not yet any updates to apply

- the preference file you want to test is
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.PowerPoint.prefs.plist

- the remove and re-install process has changed:
1. Launch the Remove Office tool, located in HD/Applications/Microsoft
Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office.
2. Press the "Continue" button to locate currently installed copies of
Office.
3. Select the version(s) of Office that you want to remove, and press the
"Continue" button.
4. Choose what components you wish to remove. For a complete removal,
choose to "Remove the Office 2004 folder," "Remove the selected Office 2004
system files," and "Preferences."

When the removal is complete, you can then re-install Office 2004 from the
CD.

This situation is very similar to the one I reported earlier today with PP
2004. Zapping the plist and removing Office 2004 did not resolve the issue.
The "pre-release" version did not exhibit this behavior. After moving to the
released version the problem appears.
