PP taking fonts with it

Is there a way for PowerPoint (2008, Saved As. 97-2004) to take the fonts
with it so, when opened on a Mac or PC which does not have those fonts,
those fonts are used and default fonts are not brought in?

(I realise taking a screenshot and pasting back as a graphic is a
possibility.)

While can do this with some fonts (via font embedding) on the PC versions
of PPT, you can neither embed fonts nor use embedded fonts on the Mac
versions.

Distributing a PDF made from your presentation files might work though.
