PPT 07 - Gradients / with Custom Colors

I have created a custom Green color. And when I choose the gradient options
in the FILL pull down menu it only gives me the light gradient options and
not the dark. I have to custom design a dark gradient.

i added several other colors and they all give me the light and dark
gradient options. Why / how can I fix this for my green color?
