Hello, I have recently created a presentation with some PDF files linked to
text boxes. This eventually will be an autorun cd with a ppt viewer. It may
seem a crass question however, when the cd is run will the host machine need
Adobe acrobat to read the files or does the viewer/autorun miracously enable
the files to be viewed/ printed etc.

Thanking you in advance

Hi,

No such luck, I'm afraid. Host machines will need Acrobat. Maybe you could
provide a link to the installation program from your slideshow. But you may
get virus warning messages when it is run. Some of the more Acrobat and vba
gurus will know tomorrow <g>.

Our product, Autorun CD Project Creator Pro, enables creating an autorun CD
and linking to PDF, Word and Excel files using the needed Viewer/Reader
which is contained on the CD and doesn't require installation on the target
system. See http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/acdpc_pro.htm.
It gets you around the limitation in the new PowerPoint 2003 Viewer which
normally doesn't allow you to run other programs like Viewers from within
your presentation.
