I am attempting to use the Online Broadcast add-in for PPT 2003 and am
running into some trouble.
My goal is conduct live broadcasts of PPT slides to a few hundred users
on a local network. I do not need to broadcast audio or video as I have
other, already working solutions for those needs.
I have setup a Windows 2000 server running Media Services 7.1. The
Online Broadcast service has been setup as per the instructions and
starts without any issues.
When I launch the Online Broadcast within PPT 2003 and verify my
settings (have directed it to my Media Server - not to any encoding
server) it validates the server and starts to publish. It finishes
publishing the presenation and then attempts to fire up the Window Media
server. I then get the following message:
"Failed to start Windows Media Server ASF session. Press Retry to try
again."
When I click on details I get:
"The Windows Media Encoder return the following error message to
Powerpoint: Unspecified error."
I feel like I am missing some small but critical piece of the puzzle.
Can anyone offer any help or suggest and alternative for broadcasting
live resizable PPT slides?
Thanks!
