PPT 2004 - Slideshow and vertical hold

M

Mahan Archer

I have encountered something with PowerPoint for Mac 2004 recently that is
so odd, I felt certain that it would be all over the Microsoft Support Site,
or at least noted in the newsgroup. (It probably is, and my skimming through
old posts wasn't as diligent as I believed...)

Here's the behavior:

When I open Microsoft Powerpoint files that have been created on a PC,
everything looks fine until I go into Slideshow mode. At this point, each
slide is displayed with the bottom half on top and the top half on bottom.
(Think of the old television sets that had problems with their vertical
hold...)

Microsoft's AutoUpdate installed the Service Pack 1 patch for me some time
ago, so I appear to be current.

Has anyone else seen this? Surely it isn't just me...

Thanks,
Mahan

This sounds like it could be a problem with your video driver. Have you
checked for updates of the video card's driver?

I have the exact same problem. I have found nothing to fix it. I have
tried the video driver and it still does the same thing. I am also on
Service pack 1. Basically powerpoint is useless for me because of
this.

Hi,

This could be a problem related to a very specific hardware configuration.

Can you post the specifics about your computer, processor speed, display
model and settings? Perhaps someone else has the same settings and can
experiment.
