WHAT I DID:
(1) Inserted default text box from shape gallery in "Drawing" tab
(2) Created three lines of text with a hard return at the end of the first
two
(3) Right-clicked text box to select "Format Shape -> Text Box"
(4) Changed "Vertical alignment" from default "Top" to "Middle"
(left "Autofit: Resize shape to fit text" unchanged and left "Wrap text"
unchecked)
(5) Clicked "Close"
(6) Selected and deleted last line of text and observed that the text box
shape contracted only from the bottom.
(7) Repeated step 4 and verified that the vertical alignment attribute was
still set to "Middle"
WHAT I SUBSEQUENTLY FOUND:
If "Autofit" is set to "Resize shape to fit text", regardless of whether
or
not "Wrap text" is checked, the middle vertical alignment attribute does
not
hold. However, if I turn off "Autofit", again regardless of whether or
not
"Wrap text" is checked, the middle vertical alignment attribute DOES hold.

I can't repro it here. If you can provide exact repro steps, I'm happy to
try again.

If I apply "Vertical alignment - middle" to a text box and then go back
and
modify the text such that it has fewer or more lines of text, the text
box
acts as if it has "Vertical alignment - top" assigned. Is this a bug
or
am I
missing something?
