Ppt 97 image is flipped

I'm running a powerpoint 97 show. One slide displays a graphic image of a
map. On some XP machines, it displays normally. On other XP machines, the
image displays backwards, i.e. the image has been flipped left to right. No
other slide is affected. On some computers it works correctly. On other
computers, the image reversed. What might cause this to happen on some
machines, but not on others?
