PPT Design / background

I would like to design my own background for a ppt but when I select the file
from "browse" in the "design" section of powerpoint, i get a message that the
file isn't a powerpoint file.

How can I create a custom background for my slides from a jpg file?

Hi

You need to go into the master view and insert the image (or use it as a
