My product design project a powerpoint presentation and is currently about 60 slides. i make it on office 2008 so i save it at home as a pptx. file, but when i hand it in it has to be a ppt file. when i convert it, it becomes more than 10 times the size, so it is nearly 200mb when i give it to my teacher.
is this normal and is there anyway of reducing the size?
thank you!

Usually the reason for this is that in order to maintain the look of your presentation
when you save back to earlier formats, PPT has to convert certain features to images.
For example, since earlier versions don't support outlined text, any outlined text in
your PPTX will become an image in the PPT. An image of "My I'm Large" is always going
to involve a LOT more data than just the text itself.
