.ppt file will not open

Processor: Intel

A business associate e-mailed me a PowerPoint file (created on a PC). The file extension is .ppt. My Office/PowerPoint is Version 10.1.4. When I try to open the file, I get this error message: PowerPoint cannot open the type of file represented by Macintosh.

That message is usually the sign of a corrupted PowerPoint file, but have a look here
first to see if you find a solution:
