PPT from Mac to PC

Jon

I have Windows 2000 PC with PowerPoint 2000 (SP-3).

I have been sent a PPT file from an iMac with OSX 10.3 and
running PowerPoint v.X.

The PPT will not open.

Any suggestions?

Does the file have a .ppt extension? Macs don't generally use the three-
letter extension at the end of file names, so when the file gets to a PC,
it doesn't know it is a PowerPoint file. Try adding the .ppt to the end
of the file name or open PowerPoint and go to the File menu and choose
Open to open the file. If that doesn't work, please describe in more
detail how you are opening the file and what kind of error message you
are getting.

The file does have a .ppt extension. This file is a map with
graphics. On the Mac it opens as expected. On the PC, it opens
PowerPoint on the usual double click of the icon, but there is no
content except for some garbage in the title bar.

Can I send you the file?

You may need to install QuickTime for windows to open certain types of image
files on Windows. Try installing QuickTime for Windows on your PC.
