ppt is not a valid Win32 application

I can't open all of my powerpoint files with the warning
of "xxx.ppt is not a valid Win32 application."

I tried uninstall and reinstall full version of Office XP.

Is there anyone can help me?

Ivan,

I vaguely remember something about this. Is this something new that has
occurred? Have you recently upgraded? What is your Windows version?

Hang on. Do you have Office Small Business? In that case, there is a file
that looks like a PowerPoint application but it is really a placeholder for
the program.

That would generate the error. By the way, it is rare for anyone to reply
through email. By posting here we all learn and benefit.

How are you opening your PowerPoint files, Ivan?
By doubleclicking their icons? Sometimes that can break, for various
reasons.

Do this as a test:

Start PowerPoint. Let it open a new blank presentation if it wants to.

Then choose File, Open and browse to where you've stored your PPT files;
choose one and open it. Does it work?
