about 60 of them are image files. is there a way to batch process it so that

** Always tell us what version of PowerPoint you are using since this
affects what options you have. So, without knowing, I'll whimsically assume
that you have PowerPoint XP ....

Click on ...
- Tools | Options | Save (tab)
Unselect Allow fast saves
Click OK

Click on any picture, then...
- Format | Picture | Compress

Select the following options
- All Pictures in document
- Web/Screen
- Compress Pictures
- Delete cropped areas of pictures
Click OK
If the warning comes up, Click Apply then OK again.

Save as a new filename.

Check the size of the new file. You should be happier.

The old file was 23 mb, (* i mistyped) and now it's 16 mb, which is a good
deal less. Thanks.

The resolution is not so great, and I imagine I could keep reducing and
compressing. The client might wish to split the ppt.

But thanks a bunch, great help here.
