PPT (& MCI Media Player) still won't play media clip

Originally, I got an error message that the DivX decompressor was needed. I
downloaded that, but still no joy. Now I just get a blank window in MCI
Media Player and a frozen "first frame" in PPT. Any suggestions? I'm
beginning to run out of time for a Monday Presentation. Running XP Home, PPT
2003. Clip saved as DivX (Highest Quality) MPG2 avi.

First,

Doing anything with a DivX format is "iffy". (Just too many variations.)
Second, if you saved it as a mpeg-2 you must have a decoder for it. Usually
this is the same as your DVD decoder (codec). I would suggest taking DivX
and Mpeg2 out of the mix, especially if you want this to work on any machine
but your own.

You might want to use PFCmedia to handle everything. You can download a 14
trial (fully functioning) from www.pfcmedia.com Should have in in shape
for Monday!
