PPT run as background application on secondary monitor

I am trying to run a PPT presentation on a large screen display in our lobby
connected to the PC at our reception desk. The large screen is set up as the
second display on a dual display setup. I have it running fine except PPT
will only run the presentation when PPT is the active application. As soon
as the receptionist opens a word doc the presentation stops. Is there any
way to run a PPT presentation as a background application running on second
display while other applications are active on primary display?

Not in normal Powerpoint. an addin will allow this though
