Hi,

PowerPoint's "save as movie" does a fairly good job for many
presentations, but as you can see it is not a perfect solution all the time.

When the "save as movie" feature is inadequate it's time to get out the
heavy iron. Get a copy of SnapZPro and you'll be able to record your
presentations exactly as they play. Added bonus - you might be able to
make backups of your DVD movies, too.

Alas, it doesn't require a Mac to spam.
The other day I asked about creating some type of movie that was self-runing on a
web site. I was crying the blues because Shockwave although easy to create cost
about $700.00. And quicktime movies created through power point were large, very large.

Someone here put me on to a program called impatica that converts PPT files to html
files you can upload to a website.

I have no idea what it cost. they make no mention of the price on their website.

I tried it out and for some reason (wonder why) you can only view the html file on
IE on your hard drive. you receive some weird Java exception. Though it does work
fine if you actually upload to server any web browser will work. I received several
Telephone calls from Tech support even though I as using the demo tryout. we traded
back and forth notes and I give them pictures (pdf's) and log files. They are going
to try try to find out what the bug is.

I would suggest people go to this site: <http://www.impatica.com>
download the demo. it create very small files and even the support files are very small.

as soon as I can find out the price I'll consider purchasing it. The tech support
person noted they gave a discount to non-profit organizations.

Might be worth investagating if you need this every day.

I've heard good things about it as well.

Hi,

It's been a while, but I think the last time I checked Impatica sold for
about $225 US per user. Don't hold me to that price, but it's probably
pretty close. I did not inquire about non-academic pricing.
