PPT unusable - far too slow

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Hello -

I don't use PowerPoint that much - but use my Mac regularly.

I am trying to write a presentation now though - using the latest version of PPT on my MacBook Pro 17" with 4GB RAM (only a month old)

I find PowerPoint totally unusable. It is incredibly sluggish.

Typing is painful as characters appear well after the key is pressed.

Why is this the case ?? Latest and fastest MacBook Pro / latest version of PPT.

An old Windows computer would run this better.

Same problem here, absolutely annoying.. I would trash Office
immediately if no everyone on Windows used it.
