PPt "X" Save for Web and MSI weirdness

Hi-
I'm running Office "X" on Tiger, and have a PPT that was created on
another Mac (Office version unknown).
It opens fine on the Mac, but when I save-it-for-web, and upload
it...the webpage displays fine for Safari 2.0.4, and Safari 1.2...also
for Windows (XP) browser like Firefox....BUT, not MSIE ver 7

I;ve done the Web Options to support InternetExplorer browsers, added
support for netscape4, and "other browsers".
Enaled PNG support, etc.

What do we know about this? Is there an MSIE setting that I'm missing,
or something in Powerpoint "X"?

(I looked back to messages here to 2003, and can't really find
anything.
Here's the webshow:
http://menoqueen.com/opp2007/OppMtg2007.htm

Slides 26, 29, 31 are the problems.
Thanks for any light shed on these....

Can you describe what the problem is? It might be something that's controlled
by a browser setting that might not be in effect on other computers, so it'd
help to know what to look for.

And can you post the URL again? This one's either incorrect or the page has
been taken down.

Sorry, I was changning the pages around and messed up the URL.
Here:
http://menoqueen.com/opp2007/Opp2007.htm

The problem seems to be with pages that are primarily "Org Chart"
style GIFs.
In all browsers except Windows XP internet Explorer, the Org chart
displays fine (multi-level marketing figures).
The slides I quoted, 26,29,31...are these GIFs. Other images display
fine.
This is on four different MS explorers ver7, as well as 2 MSIE v6.x

Very weird. Thanks for any ideas on what to look at. thanks steve...

OK, I see what you mean, I think. Where it works as expected, you see colored
graphics; where not, you see just the text. I'm seeing the text-only result in
both MSIE 7 and on another machine, in MSIE6.

In the browsers where the graphic looks correct, you're seeing an image. Where it
looks wrong, you're seeing different HTML that includes no images and as near as I
can tell, no attempt to do anything but show the text in the diagrams.

I'd say the HTML output is buggy.

I forget whether the Mac PPT version permits this, but try selecting all of the
graphics, group them, copy then paste special as an image and delete the original
(or put the pasted graphic on a new slide and hide the original slide).

Alternatively, save the slide as an image and import that back onto a new slide
then export the results to HTML.

Or if you have access to a PC, try saving as web page from it.

Bingo. Duh :) My bad
Yes. Colored graphics in an org chart layout, except in MS browsers.
Text only on v7 & v6 MSIE. Precisely.

I wouldn't be surprised if the HTML is buggy...never thought of THAT!
I'd say the HTML output is buggy.
I'll look to see if the grouping/paste-special can be done on the mac.

Big problem with using PPT on the PC--whoever put this presentation
together, used that pesky compressed imagesfunction on a mac
somewhere, and my PCs can't view any of the slides with images (need
decompressor, TIFF viewer, the error is a FAQ out here). I don't have
access to the guy's original uncompressed JPG's, etc.

Thanks for your ideas. I'll give it a go, and let you know what I
find.
Thanks again, much obliged.

(top-posting this due to extreme excitement!)
Steve-
Grouping the image(s) in that OrgChart might have done it.
Either way.
In Mac PPT "X".
Grouped OrgChart color blobs.
Copied group.
PastedSpecial to new slide.
SavedAs Webpage.
uploaded /new/ version to server.
Extra slide is in place, and both 26 & 27(new) displays properly in
Safari
AND!!
BOTH saved image versions show up properly on PC's internet explorer
v7.
http://menoqueen.com/opp2007/Opp2007.htm
slides 26 & 27.
Must have been the grouping...

Thanks immeasurably (don't you love accolades like that? ;)
Steve- You've saved me tons of time. I was almost getting ready to
rewrite those OrgCharts. Ugh.
You da man.
Have a great weekend...

I'll look to see if the grouping/paste-special can be done on the mac.

Just checked in PPT 2004. It does. Select all of the graphics that represent a
diagram, then copy them. Then choose Edit, Paste Specal and pick As Picture.

You might ... look in the support files folder PPT created when you saved as HTML. On
the PC, it includes all of the original images there. The HTML output from Mac PPT is
quite different, but with luck it may do something like this.
