PPT2007 viewer doesn't show animation of PPT2007

I produced a PP slide set in PP2007. I want to use it on a travelling laptop
that has an earlier version of PP, so I downloaded and installed PP2007
Viewer.
When I run the PP2007 presentation in Viewer, none of the animiations work.
Why?
If it's a 2007 Viewer, why wouldn't it include the animiations ability?

What kind of animations are they? Animations on SmartArt graphics, maybe?
