Pre-installation Question

Patrick D.

Hi,

I will install Project Server 2003 for the first time.
I read some papers about installing and administrating Project Server.
Now I am not sure, about the use of Sharepoint Services and Sharepoint
Portal Server: Since my network contains a Sharepoint Portal Server, I ask
here: Is it possible or even clever, to drop the Sharepoint Services
configuration part, while configuring rather Sharepoint Portal Server
functionality for Project Server?
Will my Project Server run "normal" by just configuring the Portal Server
side?

Thanks for your hint.

regards
Patrick

If you want to use the documents/issues/risks element of Project Server you
need to use Windows Sharepoint Services. WSS can then be published to the
Portal server.
