Predecessor not available to add to views in PWA

LisaD

We are using PWA 2007.

I am creating/modifying views in PWA, and predecessor and successor don't
seem to be on the list of available fields. I am modifying the Task Summary
View for Project. I checked under other views which were based Task,
Resource and Assignment tables, and still can't find it.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

No, you are right and it doesn't make sense why those fields are not
available.

The only work around I can think of is to create a custom enterprise task
text field with teh formula =[Predessecors] and =[Successors] that copies
the predessesors and successors over.

You can then include the enterprise custom task text field in your views.

Jonathan,
That was my work around too, but I thought I should ask before I created two
more custom fields. I like to stick with out-of-the-box functionality
whenever possible.

Thanks for the help.

Jonathan,
My custom field is not populated in the view I added it to.

I created the field called "Predecessor custom" as a Task field, text type.
I clicked the formula button, typed [Predecessors] in the formula box. I
left the rest of the fields at the default.

I added the new custom field to my Task Summary view, but it is not populated.

I shut down PWA and project, then re logged in and still it is not populated.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks

Lisa,

When you say Task Summary, what do you mean exactly? Where is the view used
in PWA?

Also, did you make sure to open up a project, hit F9 to force a
re-calculation so that data appears in your new view and then re-publish the
project?

Jonathan,
F9 did the trick! (I was talking about the PWA view)

I opened and closed the project several times, and refreshed in PWA, but did
not know about F9 to recalculate in project.

Thank you so much for your help!
