We use the Consolidated Links approach, having more than one schedule.
However many 3rd party applications such as Risk + or even doing various
reporting in Project is difficult when you have a Predecessor in the column
that is a hyperlink instead of a real number. I was looking to see if you
had a method already established for (after an IMS - Integrated Master
Schedule merged from the detailed files) were created, you would have it
reassign the value of the hyperlink to the new ID number from the newly
formed IMS. I have a function that I had developed, called String Split to
split out Predecessor Fields by using the various positions of the comma,
look and assign lag, and relationship type values but there must be an easier
way.
Maybe a better question is, Can part of a Predecessor Cell (A hyperlink
Part) somehow be replaced by a number or variable value? I can send you my
String Split Code if this helps, but I would appreciate any help in getting
this to somehow work with these hyperlinks!
