Preferences in Word (and all Office SW)

The preference pane does not allow to move to the next preference by clicking on the arrows, I must always return to all preferences to select the next one.

This with all Office 2008 programmes and is very very annoying

Hi Andre;

And that's different behavior from OS X System Preferences because...?

Don't get me wrong - I've been griping about this for nearly two years, but
it isn't exclusive to Office by any means :) And it isn't "all Office 2008
programmes". Word & Excel, yes, but Messenger, Entourage & PPt each use a
completely different Preferences UI - go figure.

BTW - it does no good to post complaints or suggestions here. Nobody in this
group works for MS or has any control of their software design. We're all
users assisting other users. A few softies peek in from time to time, but
they aren't the development decision makers either. Your comments will be
better placed if you use Help> Send Feedback to submit them.

Hi Andre:

Yes, it annoys the hell out of me too. But it is the way the new Apple
Preference Pane utility works.

Word is simply using the mechanism Apple provides. Microsoft wanted to
demonstrate that they were good Mac citizens by using the new utility the OS
provided :)

The only good news is that there is a "Search" field in the new Preference
Pane utility, so you can use the search to jump directly to the preference
you want, without having to remember which group it is in.

Hope this helps

ok, thank you, at least now I know I have to live with it.

I am by no means an unconditional of all Apple deeds :))

But I also work in the SW industry and I know that as a vendor it is impossible to foresee all implications on all other 3rd party software when adding/changing features.

Have a nice day :))
