Premature message sending?!? What keyboard keys mean "Post Now"for open message?

Levin, Michael

I've noticed that every once in a while, a message I am typing in Entourage
vX is sent without my having hit the Post Now button. Sometimes it happens
when I do apple-V (to paste a piece of text) and sometimes it happens for no
obvious reason that I can detect. Is there some keyboard shortcut for "Post
Now" that I should know about? It's really annoying; it happens rarely, but
often enough that I know I'm not just hitting Post Now by accident. Anyone
know what might be causing this?

Hi Mike,

yes, this error has been reported a number of times here, and as far as
I can remember, no one has really found a solution. As a matter of
fact, the same thing happened to me this morning when I was answering
to another post in this newsgroup; Entourage somehow interpreted my
intention to paste a URL as "send this incomplete message right now",
which is annoying, of course. I have only seen it twice ever since I
started using Entourage 2004 almost two years ago, so it's kind of
impossible to tell what exactly causes this problem.

Anyway, long story short: you're not the only one seeing this. Sorry
for not being more helpful.

There is a keyboard shortcut for Post Now, which is cmd-return (and same for
Send Now, with emails).

I've also seen this--and frequently at the same time as I meant to hit
cmd-v--sometimes I can tell that my fingers got confused, especially as I
usually put URLs on a separate line, but others swear that cmd-v
occasionally triggers Post Now and that their fingers could not have gotten
confused.

(apple key is commonly called command key, or cmd)

I tried to go into System Preferences and re-assign cmd-return to something
harmless, but on my machine I've had no luck with creating keyboard
shortcuts in system preferences.
