Prepare & Inspect for 07

In Excell 07 there is an option to prepare and then inspect a document to
look for data that has been deleted from the current file but may still be
remaining somewhere in the file. Is there such an option in project 07?

I am needing to declassify a document and when I remove the unwanted items
from my schedule and then use another software those unwanted items still
show up.

Anyone help?

My question really is, does project 07 provide an option to prepare and
inspect a document like excell 07 does?

This feature will reveal activities that are hidden in the project even
after they have been deleted.

thanks.

As far as I know, no.

If the issue is to reveal deleted information, I guess you have found
"another program" that does that. Not surprising that there is deleted
data in the MPP file; but is suprising that someone would go to the
bother to write a program to find such things.

If the issue is to protect any deleted data from being in a file, I
guess a way to do that would be to export to another format and then
reimport. As suggested at
http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm#Handling_project_file_corruption_and/or_bloat.
I doubt (have never looked) that it exports deleted data.

The other program to identify things is for the purpose of classifications.
Checking documents to make sure they are not "Dirty" or have hidden
information that would be a classification issue.

If you file save as to a new file, all deleted blocks of the file are
cleaned out.

The best way to prevent the someone viewing restricted information in the
file - deleted, hidden, or what-have-you - is not to let them view the MPP
file at all. Give them a PDF report containing only the information they
have a need to know and keep the MPP file secure. Project doesn't have any
feature functionally similar to the document inspector found in the Office
2007 suite
