'preparing for install' pops up every time I start Word XP

Everytime I start Word XP I recieve a 'pop-up' that
says 'preparing to install'. From selecting the shortcut
on my desktop to having Word application ready takes 45
seconds.

Note: This happens with the other OFFICE XP applications
as well.
