Presentation is taking too long to open. Placeholders?

Hi, is there a shortcut or way to open my presentations with
placeholders instead of the audio and movie files? I have about 100
presentations and when I go through those to find what I need, the
program locates and loads every linked file and it takes forever. (1
minute per presentation is a long time if I need to open 50 to find
what I need). If I could open the presentations with only the text in
them, I'd be in heaven.

Thanks

Thinking out loud: if PPT goes looking for linked files and can't find them,
it won't attempt to load them; as long as the linked files are on a local
drive, it should be able to determine that they aren't there *very* quickly.
So perhaps if you rename the folders containing the linked files, that might be
sufficient.
