Presentation mode WMV video issue - video will not scale beyond 100% on laptop

Hi everyone,

I hope someone has a workaround up their sleeves for this issue. I've
embedded a few WMV video clips in a powerpoint presentation. The clips
are scaled from 800x600 to whatever fullscreen may be. They are done
in the 'archival' wmv format and hold a decent quality even they are
of graphic material done in After Effects. On my stationary box they
play fine after the initial black flicker as the component
initializes.

On the laptop however, any attempt to scale the movie beyond 100% in
presentation mode, initializes the component at the right size before
continuing to play the clip in the lower left hand corner of the
allocated area at 100%, thus leaving a playing movie with a fat black
border around it.

Powerpoint version: 2002/XP. The laptop is a Siemens Fujitsu S-4572
700Mhz PIII coppermine running Win2K and Windows Media 9 (reinstalled
4 times just today).

I've checked fullscreening the clips in the mediaplyer to see if
hardware accelleration and scaling was running OK and it is. The error
is the same for all other activemovie formats (WM7,WM8), but does not
appear in .avi movies.

Any suggestions as to something that may help would be extremely
appreciated.
