Presentation on two screens

To show a presetation on a TV screen while showing the notes on a Monitor, do
you just need a VGA Splitter cable to split the output or is there something
else that is required?

I am running XP and Office 2003.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Will this still work though using the one vga outuput from the computer and
then using a splitter cable to go to the monitor and the TV?

No.

A VGA splitter will not work as it sends the same signal down both outputs.

Your computer will need two VGA outputs, one for your monitor and one for
the "TV."

Most laptop computers can accomplish this goal as they have the electronics
in the video card to push two different signals, one to the onboard monitor
and another to the external video port.

If this is a desktop computer you will need to install either a new video
card compatible with the current one in the computer or purchase a new video
card with dual outputs.

Hi Kevin,

There are different solutions depending on what hardware you have. If you
can tell us what type of computer (laptop/desktop) and type of external
display you have (LCD/Plasma, old TV) it would help.
