Help!

We have been using PowerPoint for our church worship services. Because
the music minister sometimes changes the order of music, it is
imperative that we be able to see the thumbnail layout while the slide
show is running. The thumbnails show on our main monitor, and the show
itself shows on our second monitor and on the screens.

We just purchased PowerPoint 2004, and the Presenter tools come on the
screen every time we start a show. We don't want or need the Presenter
tools. I checked all the help topics and couldn't find a way to turn
them off.

Is there a way to turn these off? We have temporarily removed 2004
until we can fix this.

I'm not sure I understand. The presenter view *does* show the thumbnail
you need on the mail monitor. What's worng with it then ??

You have different options in SlideShow: Setup Show... but since I'n not
sure what you want, I don't know whether they'll fix your problem :-(

The different options in Slide Show/Set Up Show do not give us the
option of looking at the thumbnails only.

In the previous editions of PowerPoint, when we clicked on the
thumbnails
button at the bottom of the slide show, it showed us thumbnails of the
slide
show. By changing the percentage, we could view anywhere from 12 to 150
or
so slides at a time. When we hit "Play show", the thumbnails were still
visible.

In the new version, when you click on the thumbnails button, you do get
the thumbnails. But when you hit "Play show", it shows the Presenter
Tools: It
has up to five upcoming slides stacked on the right side of the screen,
a large view of the current slide in the middle of the screen, and a
small view of the next upcoming slide at the bottom.

That does not work nearly as well as the old version.

Ah, OK I see what you mean,

Yeah and unforuntately for that I don't know any workaround :-(

That's too bad. We may end up looking for a replacement for PowerPoint
if they don't come up with a fix.
