Preserve existing HTML in FP 2003

Where did the 'preserve existing HTML' checkbox go in
FrontPage 2003? My carefully written HTML is getting <p>
tags inserted randomly by FP.

There isn't any such thing in FrontPage 2003. In my experience, it leaves
your HTML alone by default.

When are you experiencing FrontPage adding <p> tags? Can you give some
examples of scenarios?
