preserve screentips or comments

when saving a Visio document fto distribute it to users who do not have Visio
or even visio viewer, is there a way to preserve the screentip or the
comments associtaed to shapes ?

I am having this issue, but when I insert the comment, save the document,
close the doc and then open it back up the comment that inserted has
disappeared. Any suggestions?

What version of Visio are you using and what format are you asaving as.
Annotation was added to Visio 2003, but if your default Save as is Visio
2002 then they willl be lost.

Look under Tools --> Options --> Save --> Save as
