Prevent actuals in PWA on completed tasks

Is there anyway to prevent someone from reporting actuals against a
task that is already marked complete in PWA? I realize this is a
training issue, but when managing a project with over 50 users, it is
hard to track if someone is still recording actuals to a complete task.
I know I can hide the task in PWA, but that is not a solution I am
looking for.

Any suggestions?

This is basically a training and performance issue. Teach your team members
NOT to enter actuals against a task that was previously completed, and then
set up a process for the project manager and team member to follow when a
task needs to be reopened.

To prevent team members from seeing completed tasks on their timesheet in
PWA, your Project Server can remove these completed tasks by doing the
following:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click Admin - Clean Up Project Server Database
3. Click the Tasks option
4. Click the Delete pick list and select the "Only completed task
assignments" option from the list
5. Click the Ever Sent pick list and select the date options desired, if
any
6. At the bottom of the page, select the "Delete the specified task,
resource task change, or status report items for all users" option
7. Click the Delete button

Thanks for the quick response. I have a folow-up question. Will I be
deleting the actual task and all of it's history? Or just the entry in
the Timesheet that the user sees in PWA?

The task and its actuals will remain in the Microsoft Project plan. The
only thing deleted will be the actual task assignment on the team member's
View my tasks page in PWA. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that really does help. Now for one more question. I noticed
it does not ask you to select a project when the "Task" option is
selected. Since I am sharing the Project Server with other
departments, there are several different project plans that reside on
the Project Server. I would only want to delete the task assignemnts
from the team member's view for a specific project plan. Is this
possible?

Thanks again.

You cannot delete task assignments on a project by project basis. You can
delete completed task assignments for all resources or only for a selected
resource, but you cannot specify in which project the system deletes the
completed assignments. Sorry.
