Prevent add resources from address book/active directory

Is it possible in MS Project to disable the options to add resources from
address book and active directory (when Assigning resources)? We are working
in a project server environment and we want to prevent the use of local
resources.

Personally I was thinking of a macro, but I'm sure how to do this...

Sorry there is no such option in the tool.

Instead deny these three features in PWA > Admin > Server configuration.
- Create Accounts when Requesting Status Reports
- Create Accounts when Delegating Tasks
- Create Accounts from Microsoft Office Project

From that point your PMs will not be able to publish plans with local
resources. Though they will be able to save it. If they try to publish a plan
with local resources they will get spooler errors. From there they have to
swap local resources in their plans
