prevent beforeupdate of form when moving to subform

greetings to all,

anyone know how (or if possible) to prevent the
beforeupdate event of a main form from occuring if user
is going to subform of the same main form?

appreciate any insight...

AFAIK it cannot be done. Access must write the parent record before moving to
the subform to ensure your referential integrity.
