Prevent blank project file from opening and Project/PWA timeout

Is there a way to prevent Project from creating a new blank project file upon
opening? This is acceptible when opening Project itself, but a pain when
clicking on edit from within PWA - one always ends up with two Project files
(a blank new one along with the intended file).

Along similar lines, is there a setting for the timeout in waiting for
Project to respond after clicking on Edit from within PWA? Project opens but
waits for confirmation to activate Macros. PWA then kicks out (within
seconds) with a notice:
"Project cannot be fully opened because it is awaiting your input. Either
continue with the input process until Project is fully running or quit
Project and click Update again."

One then needs to go back to PWA and once more click on Edit. Yet another
pain ...

Thanks in advance for any constructive feedback!

I'm not aware of any way to stop Microsoft Project from opening the blank
project, either when you launch the software manually, or when PWA opens it
to process updates. To answer your second question, why don't you change
your macro security setting so the system does not have to wait for a
confirmation to activate macros? Beyond that, I do not know of any way to
control the length of the time out. Hope this helps.
