Prevent MSProject tasks from being added to MSOutlook task list

Hi - I am using project 2000 workgroup email to send task status requests to
folks. These tasks are sometimes added to the outlook task list when someone
opens them and sometimes not. I cannot find any info on how to prevent this.
Does anyone know if I can prevent it or if the it has to be prevented by the
recipient? And if so, How!!??? Thank you so much ~

Hi Ellen,

It has been quite a few years since I used the workgroup message feature
in Project 2000, but if I recall correctly, the task is added to a
user's Outlook task list if they select Accept field in the Team Assign
email and reply to the email.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

OK - thank you. But I would like to PRevent the tasks from being added to
their outlook list. I would like them to reply to the request as well. Is
that possible? I have searched everywhere and cannot find an answer to this
question. Thank you ~

Hi Ellen,

I'm sorry, I don't know of a way to have the resources accept the
assignment, reply to the Project Manager, but not have the tasks added
to the Outlook task list. You could try experimenting by having the
resources slect "No" in the accept column and replying back, but I think
that may cause some problems with TeamStatus Reports later on -- I don't
know if you can send a TeamStatus Request or Status Update on a declined
task.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
