Prevent users from editing live FrontPage sites

Is it possible to prevent users from editing files on a live FrontPage
server. At present, if a user has publishing rights from dev to live, they
also have the rights to edit directly on live!

Can the live site be hidden/disabled in the 'Open Site' list? ..or should an
alternative publication method be used??

Any suggestions would be appreciated..

Hi,

In the normal course a staging server would be used that would then be taken
to the live server. The liver server would only allow limited access.

Currently we allow all approved users to 'publish', using FrontPage, to the
live server. As a result, these approved users also can connect directly to
the live server and edit using FrontPage.

Is it possible to preserve these publishing rights from the staging server,
but disable direct connection to the live server for editing?

The staging and live servers actually form part of the corporate intranet, so
we are in control of both environments.

Is there anything we can do to restrict access to the live server, whilst
preserving publishing rights from the staging server?
