Hi. I am fairly familiar with Access, but have written my first Access .adp
project using SQL Server as the database. I will be setting it up using
MSDE. I have it running on my test platform and everything appears fine.
Normally a user would just start the program, use it, and everything would be
fine. BUT... I have a couple of "hackers & tweekers" in the group. I
would like to prevent them from being able to manipulate the tables directly
using Access. I have made the project to a .ade file. By pressing shift
when starting the program the user is taken to the access menu. Because it
is a .ade they cannot change forms or reports, which is great. However, this
does not prevent them from opening the tables and making changes, which is
what I would like to prevent. In other words, I want them to only be able to
change the data via the program, not directly. This seems an obvious
requirement, and I am sure there is good information available, but I am just
not sure where to find it. I have informaton on how to set up security in
SQL and I have some understanding of that (some being a key adjective). Your
help would be greatly appreciated. Kindest regards. Jay.
