Preventing "Office Document Writer" from being the Default Printer

Bill Bradley

We assign network printers to our computers at work, but, the first time a
new user logs on, the Default Printer is ALWAYS the "Office Document Writer"
(we are on Office 2003 SP3).

I'd like to change that, in favor of ANY network printer.

Anyone know how to modify the automatic assigning of the Default Printer?

Thanks!

Hi Bill,

Do you have any other locally installed printer drivers (even if it's a network printer Word is going to look for a printer driver
on startup).
