preview in web browsers

hello along the same lines as a previous question. I am
using windows xp home and have only ever used internet
explorer. I have just downloaded 2 other browsers
(firefox & netscape) is it o.k to install these in order
to preview my site? or will it mess up my p.c? Strange
things seem to happen to me when i add or remove
programs. Hence the question!

is it o.k to install these

Yes.
will it mess up my p.c?

No.

But if you have installed Firefox, you don't really need to install NN since
they both use the same rendering engine.

sure. just don't let any of them become your default
browser (unless you want it to be)
I think I have 7 browsers installed...but keep IE6 as the default...no problems.

.
Rob, I set Firefox as my default browser and use IE6 for
Windows Update only. NN7, and Opera are used regularly, but
Firefox is the default. No problems.

That depends on the version of NN
- I find I still need NN4xx (79) because there are still many users that have not gone past that level of NN (usually from
governmental agencies / entities)
