I'm using Microsoft Publisher 2007 to create a Web Page.

I've added Text boxes with links and one large gif image.

Page size is 860 X 800px

OS is Vista.

Preview opens an IE browser window to a blank page.

Please help!

Are the design elements on a Master Page? View > Master Page. If so, drag
them off into the scratch area, switch back to normal view, and put them on
the main publication page. Don't use a Master Page in a web publication.

If that doesn't work, then create a new web page from one of the templates
and try a web page preview. Does that work?

Which version of IE are you using?

Thanks for the Help!

The setting for this project is Page 1 Master A Ignored.

I created a new web page from one of the templates.

The web page preview shows the text which is also a link but no images.

The web page preview opens in IE 7.0

Before getting too excited about YouSendIt.com, do be aware of the small
print in their terms and conditions, which says:

"However, by making User Files available through the Service, you grant
YouSendIt the non exclusive, worldwide, transferable right, on a
royalty-free basis, with a right to sublicense this right only to third
parties assisting YouSendIt in providing the Service, to use, copy,
distribute and process User Files on the Sites and through the Service on
your behalf and on behalf of your customers solely for the purposes of
ensuring secure transfer and delivery of such User Files."

That effectively means they can do anything they like with files which you
send them. Maybe its just badly worded, but they've made no effort to revise
it.

I am not sure that I was clear. I didn't mean to recreate your original
publication in a new template. What I wanted you to do is to simply open one
of the pre-built templates and without making any changes do a web site
preview. Does that work?

I also didn't want you to ignore the master page...I wanted you to move
everything off any master page and to not use a master page.

You said that you inserted a "large"gif file...exactly how large and what
specific steps did you take to insert it?

Run the Design Checker under Tools and see if that finds any problems.

I am stumped otherwise...cannot reproduce your problem. Perhaps if your
website publication is only one page, then upload it to www.yousendit.com ,
send a link to the file to yourself, and then post the link here so I or
someone else can download it and look at it. Yousendit is a free service and
you need not register or sign up or anything to use the service.

Thanks again for your help!

I opened one of the pre-built templates and without making any changes. When
I do a web site preview only the text shows up, the art, the navigation bar
and the fake logo from the template does not appear.

I moved everything off the master page and the master page is blank.

From the drop down choices on top of page I chose Insert - Picture - From
File. The inserted gif file is 279 KB, Dimensions 1364 X 124, Width 1364 px,
Height 1224 px, Bit depth 8. After inserting the picture, I pulled edge of
image to stretch to size of page 860 X 800 px.

The Design Checker with box selected; Run web site checks, shows there are
no problems in the publication..

I published the website as an HTML file, one page, then uploaded it to
www.yousendit.com. Here is the link;

You are welcome...though I haven't had much to offer thus far ;-).

Based on your comments about the pre-built template, I am wondering if you
actually have IE8 installed rather than IE7. Open IE and go to Help > About
IE and look at the version and confirm that it is indeed IE7 please. If it
is IE8, your experience with the pre-built template and your own page might
be explained.

To save time, in case you are indeed running IE8, then open your original
Publisher web publication. Go to Edit > Select All and then to Arrange >
Ungroup. Now try the web page preview again. If this works, post back and I
will explain why.

And if none of this works, then though I appreciate the fact that you
provided a link to the .htm file you uploaded to yousendit, what I need to
see is your original Publisher file...not the web file. So, if the problem
you are having can't be explained by using IE8 vs. IE7, please upload the
*.pub file and provide a link to it, and I will try again.

It would be more helpful if you posted the URL of the actual website.

From looking at the file on YouSendIt that looks like a template from
another web editor not Publisher.
