I know that preview pane (or should I call it "paine") is a "special
creature" in Outlook, but.
I have a lengthy process of synchronizing with a remote server. During this
process I also interact with Outlook API. I also display a progress
(modeless) dialog for the sync process. The deal is that while sync is going
on I can navigate through Outlook, I can change folders, open items, etc.
So, Outlook is available for my usual work while sync process is in
progress. Everything is available but preview pane. It never shows anything
until I'm done with the sync (which takes minutes to complete).
I've tried 2 different approaches:
1. I do my sync in the context of the thread where my OnStartupComplete is
called
2. I delegate (through PostMessage) that sync to another window thread
freeing up the "OnStartupComplete" one.
Both approaches fail to yield to preview pane (I have doubts that it has
been ever created).
I really need preview pane being available. Is there any way around that?
TIA,
Vladimir
